Legacy’s Charity Golf Day: Celebrating Volunteers and Protecting the Planet

Legacy’s Charity Golf DayAt Tree-V, we believe that every journey has an impact—and that with a little thought, that impact can be a positive one. That’s why we were proud to partner with Legacy Hotels & Resorts for their Annual Charity Golf Day in support of the phenomenal charity Room to Reward.

Held at the beautiful Wychwood Park Hotel and Golf Club, the event was an incredible showcase of generosity, community spirit, and sustainability in action. With 22 teams coming together for a day of sunshine, sport, and purpose, the event raised over £10,000 to support Room to Reward’s mission: giving unpaid volunteers the recognition they deserve through well-earned hotel breaks.

But it wasn’t just about raising money—it was also about doing it responsibly.

Measuring What Matters

What makes this event stand out for us is that Legacy Hotels didn’t stop at hosting a successful charity day. They also made sure to account for its environmental footprint.

In total, attendees travelled a combined 10,000+ miles to attend the event—equivalent to nearly half the Earth’s circumference, or a drive from John O’Groats to Cape Town via Istanbul. That’s also the same as five full round-trips from Wychwood Park Hotel in Crewe to Vienna!

That level of travel generated around 3 tonnes of CO₂—roughly the same weight as three adult black rhinos.

Thanks to Legacy’s partnership with Tree-V, those emissions were fully calculated and offset, making the golf day not just a social and charitable success, but a climate-conscious one too.

Supporting People and the Planet

We’re proud to have supported such a meaningful day—one that celebrated the vital role of volunteers while taking responsibility for its environmental footprint. Working with organisations like Legacy Hotels & Resorts, who understand the importance of people and planet, is exactly why we do what we do.

Want to make your next event more sustainable?

If you’re planning an event, it’s worth knowing that up to 78% of its carbon footprint typically comes from travel and transport. At Tree-V, we help organisations like Legacy Hotels identify, measure, and offset these emissions—making it easy to reduce environmental impact without compromising on experience. If you’re looking to make your events more sustainable, let’s talk.
